Stimulate the growth of collagen and elastin in your skin
Microneedling
Microneedling is a collagen induction therapy that uses fine needles to create micro-abrasions on the skin. The benefit of Microneedling is smoother, firmer and more toned skin. Microneedling treatment is also for reducing atrophic acne scars, stretchmarks, and also for treating hair loss. The procedure may cause discomfort, however pre-anaesthetic is applied before the procedure. Microneedling at Victoria Natural Lines uses an advance probe integrated with Radio Frequency Waves. Microneedling Frequently Asked Questions
How does radio frequency microneedling skin firming work?
Is the procedure painful?
Some patients find the procedure somewhat painful, however at Victoria Natural Lines we use topical pre-anethetic before the procedure to minimize any discomfort. Most patients have no problem sitting through the entire micro-needling session.
What should I expect after the procedure?
Right after the procedure, there will be moderate redness similar to a bad sunburn. This redness will go away after 1 to 3 days, after which the outer epidermal layer will start to slough off, showing a new layer of smooth skin.
How long should I wait until the next treatment?
For the best results, we recommend patients start with 3-4 treatments. Most patients get the best results scheduling treatments spaced out every 6 to 8 weeks. This allows the complete cell regeneration to occur in between each treatment.
Will the treatment cause bleeding?
Micro-needling causes very little bleeding; significantly less than a tattoo. While older micro-needling techniques used dermal rollers, our technique does not need to draw blood in order to achieve the best result. The needles can be set to a certain length for specific needs and adjusted for different types of skin. This allows is to achieve the most stimulation while doing the least disruption to the skin.
What should I do after the procedure?
After the procedure, do NOT wash your face for at least 8 hours. The day after the procedure, you may wash your face with mild soap and water. Starting the day after procedure, apply non-scented hydrating lotion and sunblock (if you will be outside).
We also recommend avoiding any physical activity that would cause excessive sweating, especially in the 2-3 days after the procedure. Since dust and dirt can cause irritation or infection of the skin, avoid any situations (eg. household chores, camping, etc.) that might cause dirt of dust to get on the face during this period.
Avoid sun exposure for at least a week if possible (until all redness has gone away)
Can I apply makeup after the procedure?
It is best not to apply any makeup for at least two days after the procedure. This does not include sunblock, which should be used daily throughout the healing process.
